Whew what a week it’s been! First week up with the blog and I must admit that things are getting off to a great start! I want to thank everyone who has come by and checked it out, it’s truly appreciated from the bottom of my wee little heart.
On the blog…
The inaugural post to kick things off was a little piece about how here in Hawaii, search marketing just hasn’t gotten a fair shake with the business community. Even though no one objected to this post, I would stand by this until proven otherwise. However one thing I did notice is that since I got a MyBlogLog account going again, there turns out to be more SEO/SEM Hawaii folks than I thought. Aloha to all of you and thanks for checking out the blog. You’re always welcome here!
To update Monday’s post about my client’s domain getting cybersquatted, we opted out of paying the moron who did this and just got a new domain name instead. I wrote a happy little letter to the guy, thanking him for his fine services and ethical approach to helping my client. Did I mention that I have a pet unicorn?
Tuesday was by far the best day I’ve had this week for one simple reason; The Lisa from Bruce Clay came by and told me we could be best friends. Oh yea, and she liked my 3 ways to keep your blog from an untimely death. I think just having her come by like that has given my blog all kinds of good ju-ju; I got my first diggs from that article.. thats right baby, I have 5 diggs now.. but just wait till I get 6!
Wednesday was like steak and eggs for breakfast; I banged out 2 posts in one sitting and felt full of bloggy goodness. Still inspired by Wednesdays events I decided to expand on how to keep your blog fresh by prepping your articles in advance. About an hour later while I was in Google Analytics, I decided that the new interface they put in place is a pastel monster that requires 6000×4080 resolution or you can rent a movie theater. Want some popcorn?
I was feeling all detective like on Thursday and wanted to share my research on Microsoft Live Search’s recent climb on usage and how much of a part the release of Vista played a part. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the correlation, but I’m still really confused by graph 3. If I only had a groovy van and a talking dog, I could get to the bottom of it…
In Search News
Matt Cutts seems to be on another vacation, or at least prepping for one. What… that’s like the 5th he’s had this month? Well despite the throng of adoring fans and fanettes out there, I know the internet will keep chugging along; as long as you don’t go to this page.
Search Engine Land reported this week that YouTube and CNN will be partnering up to co-sponsor the democratic presidential debates. Not sure how right wing pundit bloggers will view this, but I for one am glad to see vital moments in our country’s presidential process being put forth to the masses. Power to the people.
For the Googlaholics out there, you can now play around with Google’s new Experimental Search. Out of curiosity, I wanted to make sure that my area was free and clear of mimes. I can sleep better tonight.
And that’s a wrap! Thanks everyone and I look forward to seeing you back on Monday.
