So the eggheads up at Google decided it was time to take their analytics offering and give it a new look. Usually I’m all for change, but in this case I can’t give them love. For those of you who haven’t checked out Google Analytics, it’s a pretty nifty free tool for figuring out what your site visitors are doing on your site and you can really drill down and get some unique data.
Ok, so back to what I was saying. When it was originally released about a year and a half ago, it was full of straight forward menu items, pretty Flash presentations and laid out the info in a pleasing manner for mental digestion.
Apparently, you need to have a really large screen to get the full effect of the redesign.

I guess we’ll be seeing more and more web marketing people sharing their popcorn this summer. The whole interface gives you the feeling like you are tiny and looking at something mammoth. Pastel, and mammoth.

Luckily however, you can still opt to use the old layout instead of their new gigantic layout. What’s your take on the new layout?
